In a swift and effective response to a hotel burglary, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command has apprehended a suspect linked to the theft of several newly acquired bar chairs from a local establishment. The incident occurred on July 25, 2025, on Afaha Eket Road, Eket Local Government Area.
The hotel’s security officer alerted the police at approximately 2:00 PM on that day after discovering that the hotel’s storehouse had been forcibly accessed. Initial investigations led authorities to identify Mr. Ifeanyi Nnadozie, a security staff member at the hotel, as the prime suspect in the case.
Acting quickly on the findings, police operatives apprehended Mr. Nnadozie, who had been on duty the night before the burglary took place. Following his arrest, investigators conducted a thorough search of his residence, where they successfully recovered the stolen bar chairs.
During questioning, Mr. Nnadozie confessed to the crime, shedding light on the details surrounding the burglary. The police have confirmed that he will be charged in court, emphasizing the command’s commitment to maintaining security and order within the state.
