Kano State Event Planners’ Owners Association Celebrates New Leadership and Achievements at Successful AGM Dinner and Award Night

The Kano State Event Planners’ Owners Association (EPOAK) recently held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Award Night at The Afficent Event Centre on Sultan Road, bringing together dignitaries, traditional rulers, and business leaders from the local community. The event marked a significant transition in leadership, highlighting both the association’s achievements and future goals.
During the gathering, Kamal Mas’ud El-jibril Doguwa was elected as the new Chairman, leading a dynamic team of executives that includes Fatima Abubakar as Vice Chairman, Ali Isma’il Gano as Secretary General, and several others in key positions. The incoming leadership aims to build on the strong foundation laid by outgoing Chairperson Hajiya Fatima Abdussalam, who reflected on the challenges and accomplishments faced during her tenure, including issues related to multiple taxation and the impact of COVID-19.
In her remarks, Amma S. Umar, representing the Ammani Event Centre, underscored the importance of unity, stating, “An association is a group of people with shared interests, and here we are.” Additionally, Sp Abdullahi Kiyawa, representing the Kano State Commissioner of Police, commended the association for its effective coordination, revealing there have been no reports of phone thefts at event centers in Kano.
Hajiya Fatima Abdussalam celebrated significant milestones achieved during her leadership, including the successful registration of EPOAK with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and the establishment of a corporate bank account.
The night concluded with the presentation of awards to distinguished members and organizations, recognizing their outstanding contributions to the community. Award recipients included Ammani Event Centre, Hajiya Fatima Abdussalam, and The Efficient Event Centre, among others. The 13 former executive members were also honored with awards of excellence, reaffirming the unity and respect amongst EPOAK members.
In his remarks, Executive Secretary of Censorship, Kano State, Hamza El-Mustapha encouraged members to promptly resolve any outstanding issues, further affirming the association’s commitment to collaboration and growth in the event planning industry.
