Eid Message: Africa Peace Reform Initiative Urges Unity, Dialogue Ahead of Northern Peace Campaign
The Africa Peace Reform Initiative (APRI), in collaboration with the Global Peace Chain and other stakeholders, has called on Nigerians to embrace peace, unity, and reconciliation as Muslims across the country celebrate the Eid al-Fitr.

In the statement, the organization described the occasion as a significant moment for reflection on the values of compassion, forgiveness, and solidarity following a month of spiritual devotion during Ramadan.
APRI noted that the celebration, which coincided with the sacred Friday prayers, provides an opportunity for citizens to renew their commitment to justice, peaceful coexistence, and national unity, particularly across Northern Nigeria where communities continue to grapple with social challenges.
The group also used the occasion to highlight preparations for the forthcoming 2026 Northern Nigeria Peace Campaign, stressing the urgent need for dialogue, reconciliation, and collective responsibility in addressing the root causes of conflicts and social vices.
Speaking on behalf of the initiative, Ambassador Malami emphasized that the spirit of Eid should go beyond festivities to inspire lasting peace and inclusive development.
“Eid al-Fitr is not only a celebration of faith but also a reminder of our shared humanity. On this special day, let us commit ourselves to building bridges of peace, empowering our youth, and ensuring that every community thrives in harmony. When peace wins, we all win,” he stated.
APRI reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening partnerships with community leaders, traditional institutions, religious bodies, and civil society groups to promote a sustainable culture of peace across Arewa and beyond
