2026 Hajj: Kano Pilgrims Board Moves Early as DG Inspects Accommodation Facilities in Makkah
As preparations for the 2026 Hajj gather momentum, the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has intensified efforts to ensure a smooth and comfortable pilgrimage for intending pilgrims from the state.
The Director General of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, on Sunday conducted an inspection visit to the accommodation facilities designated for Kano State pilgrims in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, as part of early arrangements for the forthcoming Hajj exercise.
The inspection was aimed at assessing the readiness of the facilities and ensuring that they meet the required standards to host pilgrims during the holy pilgrimage.
During the visit, Matawalle examined the condition of the buildings, their proximity to the Holy Mosque (Haram), and the availability of essential services necessary to support pilgrims throughout their stay in the holy city.
He stressed the importance of providing safe, comfortable, and well-organized accommodation, noting that proper planning and strict adherence to standards are critical to ensuring a smooth and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage for all intending pilgrims from Kano State.
The Director General also held discussions with officials and service providers responsible for managing the facilities, urging them to comply fully with the agreed standards and ensure timely completion of all necessary arrangements ahead of the Hajj season.
Matawalle reaffirmed the commitment of the board’s management to continuous monitoring and improvement of services, assuring that the welfare of Kano State pilgrims remains a top priority.
According to him, the early inspection forms part of a broader strategy by the board to strengthen operational readiness and enhance the overall Hajj experience for pilgrims from the state.
The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has in recent years stepped up measures aimed at improving logistics, accommodation, and welfare services for its pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
