NAHCON Raises Alarm Over Fake Facebook Account Impersonating Chairman

National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has issued a public disclaimer warning Nigerians about a fraudulent Facebook account impersonating its newly appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf.

In a statement released to the public, the Commission clarified that the Facebook account in question is fake and has no affiliation whatsoever with the NAHCON Chairman. It stressed that Ambassador Abba Yusuf does not operate any Facebook account or maintain a presence on other social media platforms.

The Commission expressed concern that unsuspecting members of the public could be misled by the impersonator, especially in matters relating to Hajj operations, pilgrim registration, or official directives.

NAHCON advised Nigerians to disregard any communication emanating from the fraudulent account or any other unofficial source purporting to represent the Chairman. The public was also urged to report such accounts to the appropriate authorities to prevent further misuse.

The Commission emphasized that all verified information regarding Hajj activities, policies, and official updates would only be disseminated through its recognised communication channels.

The disclaimer was signed by Fatima Sanda Usara, Deputy Director of NAHCON, who reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to transparency and safeguarding the public from misinformation.
