Saudi Arabia Closes 2026 Hajj Data Capture as NAHCON Seeks Extension, Warns Against Payments
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, has officially closed the data-capturing window for the 2026 Hajj exercise, raising concerns for intending Nigerian pilgrims yet to complete their registration.
In a statement issued by the Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, Fatima Sanda Usara, the Commission disclosed that it has formally appealed to Saudi authorities to grant an extension that will allow Nigerian Hajj administrators to finalize the uploading of outstanding pilgrim data on the Nusuk Masar platform.
NAHCON expressed optimism that the Saudi authorities would favourably consider the request, assuring intending pilgrims and stakeholders that updates would be communicated promptly once feedback is received.
The Commission also issued a strong warning to prospective pilgrims, advising them not to make any payments to individuals, groups, or agencies, stressing that payment for the 2026 Hajj exercise has officially been closed.
NAHCON urged members of the public to rely only on its verified communication channels for accurate and timely information regarding the pilgrimage.
The Commission further appreciated stakeholders for their patience and cooperation, noting that it remains committed to working closely with Saudi authorities to ensure a seamless and successful Hajj operation for Nigerian pilgrims.
