Stakeholders Attacked as APC Peace Meeting Breaks Down in Dawakin-Tofa, Rimin-Gado and Tofa Federal Constituency

Reconciliation effort between rival political camps collapses amid tension, forcing attendees to flee as key party figures gather for unity talks.

Arewa Updates reported that the meeting was marred by a row after the NNPP Women’s Chairperson in Dawakin Tofa, Hajiya Hasiya Aminu, who had defected to the APC, challenged the member of the federal assembly for the area, Hon. Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe, who had defected to the NNPP with him in the past, to claim that he had brought them down.

Hasiya declared the member of the assembly to be a failure and called on him to emulate the Chairman of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area Council, Anas Mukhtar Bello Dan Maliki and Engr. Abba Ganduje, which angered the member of the assembly.

Reports we received indicate that he was in the middle of his speech when he became agitated and said that he should not answer, because by God he would not accept it, and attempts were made to stop him and even the speaker was seized.

The scene was tense as the MC, who had barely managed to get his shirt torn, was disrupted by angry youth supporters of the lawmaker.

A participant in the meeting said that many party stakeholders were on their feet.

This was the first meeting to bring together the previously politically estranged factions of the Jobe House of Representatives and Engr. Abba Ganduje, who contested the 2023 elections.

Among the aspirants for the National Assembly seat who attended the meeting were Barr. Munir Dahiru Maigari, former Chairman of Rimingado Local Government Area Council and Dr. Jinaidu Yakubu Tofa, Engr. Abba Ganduje, as well as the Director of Publicity to the Kano Governor, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, who attended the meeting via telephone.

Other party leaders who attended included Malam Sani Tofa, Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Projects, and former Chairman of the Kano Judicial Service Commission.

Former Kano Commissioners for Works Engr. Hamisu Lambu, Shehu Haruna Lambu,

and Idris Garba Unguwar Rimi.

Former Kano State Commissioner Muhammad Nadu Yahaya, Professor Nura Yaro Dawakin Tofa, Professor Kabiru Dungurawa, Former Chancellor of Kano College of Science and Technology, Ibrahim Umar, Former Mayor of Tofa, Muhammad Bello Butu-butu, Deputy Speaker of the Kano Legislative Assembly, Barr Muhyi Magaji Rimingado, Former Chairman of the Kano Anti-Corruption Commission, Ahmad Muhammad Speaker, Former Chairman of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area.

However, the face of the prominent Dawakin Tofar politician Engr. Muʼazu Magaji Dan Saraunya, popularly known as Win-win on Social Media, was not seen.
