Hon Ado Doguwa Leads Massive APC Registration Drive, Welcomes NNPP Heavyweights in Kano Political Realignment

The Leader of the Northern Caucus in the House of Representatives and Leader of the APC Caucus, Doguwa/Tudun-Wada Stakeholders Council, Rt. Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, on Friday spearheaded a major all-inclusive All Progressives Congress (APC) electronic registration exercise in Doguwa Local Government Area of Kano State, marking a significant boost for the ruling party’s growing influence in the state.

The high-profile registration exercise witnessed the formal reception of several prominent members of the defunct New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) into the APC, further strengthening the party’s grassroots and institutional presence across Doguwa LGA.

Among the notable figures received into the APC was the Kano State Commissioner for Water Resources and former APC State Chairman, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa. Also joining the ruling party were Engr. Ado Ibrahim Doguwa, the Executive Chairman of Doguwa Local Government Council, Hon. Abdulrashid Doguwa, alongside the entire executive and legislative arms of the council. The event equally attracted a large number of decampees from the NNPP, many of whom are government officials operating under the leadership of Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Speaking during the exercise, Rt. Hon. Doguwa described the development as a landmark moment for the APC in Kano State, emphasizing that the mass registration and defection signified unity, inclusiveness, and shared political vision among stakeholders in the state. He noted that the exercise reflected the party’s commitment to strengthening democratic participation and consolidating its support base across all levels of governance.

He further revealed that the new entrants and party stakeholders collectively pledged loyalty and commitment to the progress and stability of the APC under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the national level and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf at the state level. According to him, the development aligns with the provisions of the party’s constitution and reinforces the principles of constitutional democracy.

Rt. Hon. Doguwa described the political alignment as a mutually beneficial development, stressing that the move represents a “win-win” situation for all party members and supporters. He added that stakeholders have resolved to work collectively towards advancing the governor’s developmental and political vision popularly known as the “Kano First” agenda.

The federal lawmaker expressed optimism that the growing unity among party leaders, government officials, and grassroots supporters would further strengthen governance, promote political stability, and enhance developmental strides in Kano State and beyond.

Political observers view the large-scale registration and defection as a significant milestone capable of reshaping the political landscape in Kano State, particularly as the APC continues to expand its reach and consolidate its structure ahead of future political engagements.

The event concluded with renewed commitments from party leaders and supporters to promote unity, strengthen internal democracy, and sustain collaborative governance in line with the aspirations of the APC leadership at both national and state levels.
