— Calls for unity, stronger leadership alignment to fast-track Kano’s development

A former Chairman of Tudun Wada Local Government Area of Kano State, Hon. Ahmad Tijjani Musah (Matata), has commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf over his recent political decision, describing it as a potentially transformative step that could deepen cooperation between Kano State and the Federal Government under President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

In a goodwill message made available to the press, Hon. Matata, speaking on behalf of himself, his associates and members of the Matata Advancement Initiative, said the development has generated optimism among many stakeholders who believe it could unlock new opportunities for progress and inclusive governance in the state.

According to him, Kano State—renowned for its rich history and strategic importance in Nigeria—has in recent years grappled with political divisions that have slowed the pace of development. He noted that improved alignment and unity among leaders at the state and federal levels could help reverse this trend and deliver tangible benefits to the people.

“There is growing hope that stronger collaboration between different tiers of government will accelerate development and bring meaningful improvements to the lives of ordinary citizens across Kano State,” Musah said.

The former local government chairman also paid special tribute to Senator Barau I. Jibrin Maliya, whom he described as a leader with deep grassroots appeal and a reputation for inclusive governance. He highlighted the senator’s consistent engagement with diverse communities and his support for development-driven initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, education and economic opportunities.

“Senator Barau’s public service record reflects a clear commitment to ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach the grassroots in practical and visible ways,” Musah noted.

At the local level, he extended warm regards and best wishes to the Chairperson of Tudun Wada Local Government, Hon. Sa’adatu Salisu Soja, her husband Air Commodore Salisu Yusha’u (Rtd.), and members of the local government team, stressing the critical role of effective leadership in driving community development and social well-being.

Hon. Musah concluded with prayers for divine guidance for all leaders, expressing hope that Allah grants them wisdom, unity and strength as they shoulder the responsibilities of governance, and that Kano State continues on a path of peace, stability and shared progress.
