Tribute to Yagana Kaka Goni
Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un.
With a heavy heart, I join family, friends, and colleagues in mourning the passing of our dear sister, Yagana Kaka Goni. Although we never met in person, I came to know her through my immediate elder brother, who was her course mate at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, CHO Class of 2005.
He often spoke of her kindness, humility, and generosity of spirit—so much so that I began to feel as though Yagana was a member of our own extended family. Truly, people like her leave behind a legacy of goodness that touches lives far beyond their immediate circle.
We pray that Allah (SWT), in His infinite mercy, forgives her shortcomings, accepts her good deeds, and grants her eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdausi. May her memory continue to inspire kindness and compassion in all who knew her.
