As the world marks International Children’s Day 2025, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, a renowned educationist and philanthropist, has delivered a heartfelt and action-driven message that calls for deeper investment in the lives and futures of children across Nigeria and Africa. Through the Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo Foundation, Professor Gwarzo has championed several transformative initiatives aimed at improving children’s lives, particularly in underserved communities.
These initiatives include the construction of modern classrooms, entrepreneurship and skills training programs, creative and digital learning initiatives, and provision of school supplies, scholarships, and nutritional support for orphans and vulnerable children. Professor Gwarzo’s message emphasizes that true celebration of children goes beyond ceremonial speeches and requires deliberate, sustainable actions that empower every child with access to education, healthcare, protection, and opportunity.
The Professor used the occasion to rally stakeholders, governments, civil society organizations, development partners, parents, and community leaders to prioritize child development as a national and continental agenda. He stressed the importance of inclusive education that respects diversity and caters to the needs of girls, children with disabilities, and those living in conflict-affected or marginalized regions.
